Comments Thread For: Gilberto Ramirez Eyes June Ring Return

Gilberto Ramirez is closing in on his debut under new promotion. The unbeaten former super middleweight titlist is due to return this June, with hopes of facing at least a mid-level light heavyweight contender for the occasion. The fight will mark his first since signing with Golden Boy Promotions earlier this year, though plans for his next fight remain in a holding pattern.

Ramirez has fought just once in the last 2 years. Now that his promotional status is resolved he needs to be active. A June fight then try to enforce a title a shot by end of the year. WBO will have him ranked #3 after last weekend a win over someone like Barrera should elevate him to #1 or at worst #2 and he's already #3 with the WBA.

Ramirez is the champion of inactivity at mo. WBA should make him a belt for his ability to get boxingscene articles

Bivol would be good. Knocking the crooked drunk Kovalev into retirement would be good too.
