Comments Thread For: Carlos Caraballo: 100%, I'm The Most Distinguished Prospect in Puerto Rico

Old San Juan, Puerto Rico - Immediately before the main event, Carlos 'Purin' Caraballo (14-0-0, 14 KOs) of Ponce, P.R. made an emphatic statement with his fourth-round technical knockout victory over a game Leonardo 'Leon' Baez (18-3-0, 9 KOs) of Mexicali, Mexico.

That was a great win for Carlos Caraballo against Leonardo Baez, now I'd like to see him against the brother Eduardo.
Carlos just might be a future champion in the making, he showed boxing ability, ring smarts, and explosive power.
Amanda Serrano made the statement she needed to send to Katie Taylor, by knocking out Bermudez with body punches.
Daniela Bermudez was tough as nails, consistently coming forward, and landing her own shots on Amanda Serrano.
I did see Amanda get hit more in this fight than she has in previous fight as of late, Bermudez came to win.
Daniela actually fights a lot like Katie Taylor, this fight was an example of what's waiting for Katie Taylor if she ever signs for the fight.
Amanda would bust her face up, prior to winning by TKO, or Knockout that's just the way I see it happening.
Amanda is going to unify the 126 pound division, then hopefully move up to challenge Katie Taylor for the 135 pound belt.
If she wins that title, she should unify that division, then close out her career by challenging against Jessica McCaskill at 147 pounds.
Making her an 8 division boxing champion, and becoming the greatest female fighter in the history of boxing, if she isn't already the greatest.

What happened to Bomba Gonzalez and Orlando del Valle?
those were looking like nice prospects...

BTW Bomba Gonzalez had no business fighting Segura that early.

The only message she sent to Katie Taylor is turning down a fight that would be more money than all her fights combined and on top of that, Serrano wouldnt travel.

I hope someone comes out legit. They've been on the downward slide for awhile now. They get new prospects only to get blasted away when facing their first true challenge/adversity.

Crazy to think Cotto was the last big thing at this point. Before Cotto it was, Trinidad? I think they're in need of the next big mega star that is LEGIT. Boxing is always more fun when they have one.

If you recall accurately Eddie Hearn who tried to short change her purse, and changed the fight location. Serrano's team agreed upon the location change, but not upon the reduced fee, and then Hearn wanted the training expense money returned. He blamed it all on the covid-19 affecting no gate revenue, now if they would have tried to reach a legitimate compromise on the money the fight would've proceeded. Bermudez is just a smaller version of Taylor, and although I can see Taylor giving Serrano a fight. As the rounds progress Serrano's superior boxing skills, punching power, and ring generalship will break down Taylor. I thought Persoon beat her twice, Serrano's not happy with the disrespect shown for a 7 division champion. I believe that it will motivate her even further to prove she's the best fighter in womens boxing. Richard your entitled to your opinion, and I'm entitled to mine, and there you have it. If that fight gets made we'll both be in for a tremendous battle, between two of the best fighters in the world of boxing.

I can't argue with your statement, it is true that there hasn't been a legitimate superstar fighter who's come out of Puerto Rico in a few years. I believe thats about to change, there is a new crop of contenders coming up, that within the next year or two will produce champions. I mean long reining superstar champions, Edgar Berlanga for one if he can take it, as well as he dishes it out. There are others with 16 fights or less which you might not know about, so I wont speak on them yet. They are the ones whom the public will know about loud, and clear within the time frame stipulated previously. That said Amanda Serrano is the KO Queen, the #1 Pound for Pound Champion, and the greatest female fighter in boxing history.
