Comments Thread For: Crawford Believes Spence Fight Won't Happen, Takes Wait-And-See Approach With Ortiz

Terence Crawford was in the same building with two of his divisional peers, yet still remains unconvinced that either one serves as a realistic option for his next fight. That said, there exists greater hope of a future showdown with Vergil Ortiz Jr. than with fellow welterweight titlist Errol Spence Jr.

Neither Pacquiao or porter is happening next. If Crawford can't get the fights he says he wants then he should fight the fights he can. If Ortiz says he wants the work let him have it. Same with Ennis.

If the fight isn't going to happen, it's like what's the point then at this point? I think everyone is just waiting for that moment they both get together to see who is the true dominance. Anything else is like, meh. With that in mind I guess we'll be subjected to subpar fights until retirement?

I don't know but this is the stuff that drives me (and probably everyone else) crazy with boxing. The best rarely ever get together to fight.

At least Fury-Joshua is happening and rather quickly overall considering. It has never been milked out for many years as these two have. It definitely is the use new Pac-May delay that when they finally do get together, someone will have been a shell of their former self.

Seems like the more money poured into boxing the less evenly matched the fights are. Everything is talk and if it is not talk it is not now. So you can catch mid level, under the radar fighters some weeks and a fight might break out, but as far as once they are a known name........... forget about it time to look elsewhere. Who cares why ? That is for the promoters and writers to dig into.

What happen to the glory days in boxing where 2 bad a$$ dudes talked smack while preparing to fight each other? I'm slowly turning against Spence and Crawford. Its getting ****** that they dont even seem to wanna fight each other.

Crawford-Ortiz, yes, let it happen. No marinating, not much else in the welterweight division now, who can give Crawford a tough fight. But yes, boxing today, frustrating, best usually don't fight each other, within an acceptable time period.

Outside of the ring. It’s not much to like about Crawford. This guy never fights 50/50 fights, rarely does interviews, and now he’s actively killing hype for an unification. Wack. It’s impossible to deny his skill in the ring, but I wish he would finally get in the ring with someone we actually believe can be competitive with him.

How? Spence is the one claiming he needs the lion share. This fight should be 50/50 split, and Crawford is cool with that. Spence is the one pricing himself out.
