They do ignore the fact that there is a long line of guys from 147 to 175 that would love to fight Canelo. That's like a Floyd fight, everybody wants it. The two other risks Golovkin took were his WBA mandatory Jacobs and Derevyanchenko for the vacant IBF when he needed a title. A lot of people said he lost those fights.

So for sure this was going to go PPV....And let's be real, if Ruiz/Arreola is PPV, then this fight would DEFINITELY be on PPV.

My question is if DAZN would have bumped his pay for this fight? Would he make 20M instead of his usual 15M?

If the money was not going to go up all that much, then yeah GGG was not going to take a fight with Charlo when he could face inferior fighters for the same or similar amount of pay.

Doesn't mean GGG is ducking him or is scared to fight Charlo. Just that he has other plans at the moment.
Golovkin knows there's easier money elsewhere.

Not sure why Golovkin at this stage of his career would want to fight Charlo twice? If he beats him easily then why would he want to fight him a second time?
