Comments Thread For: Avni Yildirim: They're Not Giving Me Much Of A Chance, But No...

MIAMI - Avni Yildirim is well aware of the boxing public's perception of his fight against Canelo Alvarez. The Turkish contender is widely viewed as a gargantuan underdog who has next to no chance of upsetting perhaps the sport's best boxer, pound-for-pound. Handicappers have established Alvarez as a 50-1 favorite over his mandatory challenger Saturday night, but those lopsided odds have only provided more motivation for Yildirim throughout his recently completed training camp.

Yeah, maybe if the crazy Ahmet Oner steps in the ring with him, Avni has a little chance. LOL

Poor dude hasn't got a chance. He has totally the wrong style for going up against Alvarez. Yildirim habitually covers his face and wades in close, waits for the other guy to land a few, then starts trying to counterpunch. If you've got a chin like an engine block, you can work like that, but Yildirim doesn't have that. Alvarez will paint him with combinations and then step out of range. He'll do this repeatedly. Once he's gotten Yildirim accustomed to that pattern, he'll step in, throw a few, the NOT step away and will wait for Yildirim to lower his guard in preparation to throw. When Yildirim comes out of his guard, Alvarez knock him out worse than Khan.

Alternative scenario: If Yildirim's guard isn't effective down low, Alvarez will knock him out on a liver shot early in the fight. Either way, I don't foresee it going long.

Joke of a fight! We have more of a chance of seeing pigs fly than this guy having a remote chance of winning. This charade will be over in 2-3 rounds.

I'll watch it as I watched the Tyson v Douglas fight ....I don't expect a similar out come, the fight is as bad as young Edwards outfit!....50/1 on speaks volumes about the crooked WBC.
