An offer was presented a few weeks ago and the deal was reached for Miguel Diaz, a very experienced cutman and trainer, to work the corner of Manny Pacquiao for his November 14 bout with Miguel Cotto. Diaz was a member of Team Cotto but was fired without explanation after Miguel had the violent split with uncle/trainer Evangelista Cotto a few months ago. [details]

I don't think it is that big a news. It's just that the name of both of Cotto and Pacquiao are involved. So relax Champ. It's just some journalists can be likened as nuthuggers too. Obviously, some journalists go for quantity rather than quality.

For a big Cotto fan you don't seem to know much about the fighter's camp. Diaz was a close member of Cotto's team and worked with him for a while. Chavez worked like 1 fight with Manny? Cotto doesn't change much of his routine. I'm sure Diaz will spill secrets.

Maybe it's news because Diaz is a trainer as well as a cutman, I'm sure he's seen some stuff inside Cotto's camp that no one knows about that he can tell Roach, Chavez didn't work that long with Pacquiao and I don't think he's a trainer.

Like another poster already said, Diaz was in his camps and he was one of the people Miguel nearly hired to replace Evangelista.

he never came close to hire him as a trainer, I mean he fired the guy as his cutman!!!!
