actually its 2 lbs and he won the belt at the limit of his weight class and imo if pac wants to win a WW title then he should be fighting at the WW limit not a catch weight of 145 to me thats not fair

These days the title belts don't make the fighters. Pac will be Pac and Cotto will be Cotto. Title or not these guys are just gonna fight just as hard. The WBO just wants to cash in on this Mega-Fight any way possible. Belts are meaningless and don't make the fighter who they are

a very true statement neither of these guys need the title but it will add to the history of the fight and of course the WBO wants the cash for this fight why wouldnt they cotto holds their WW belt and if its on the line then why wouldnt they want him to pay a sanctioning fee...but i think its bull**** that they would want him to pay if the title isnt on the line

Cotto, as champion, has to pay the WBO a minimum of $1,000 and a max of $150,000.

              [details]
Valcarcel is an ******* and a big one for that matter. There are other contractual issues that make his assertions invalid.Cotto stands to lose $1m if he comes in at 146 and that invalidates Valcarcel's arguement.Cotto can throw that piece of trash into the bin and let Manny Pacquiao pick it up if he wants. This whole thing can be challenged in Cotto and The WBO will definitely lose.

The good thing is the contract hasnt been signed and if Arum doesnt deliver the fight then Cotto is gone.Arum will have to choose.

doesnt change the fact that the WW limit is at 147 and the fight is at a catch weight of 145 hence 2 pounds
