  • Golden Boy Promotions, Universum Form Pact

Los Angeles/Hamburg - Golden Boy Promotions, the leading U.S.-based boxing promotional company and Germany's top boxing promotional firm, Universum Box Promotions, today announced the formation of a strategic alliance between the two promoters. The newly formed relationship has three major goals including to capitalize on the global impact of the sport of boxing; give the fighters within the promotional stables of Golden Boy Promotions and Universum Box Promotions the opportunity to display their talents on a global platform rather than just a national platform; and focus on the joint development of venue, sponsorship and network relationships on an international level. The words "excitement" or "excited" are really beaten to a pulp in the "pronouncements" of all sorts of boxing goombahs.

Oscar regularly gets "excited" every time he wants to sell something to the "useful idiots"......

This is great news for Gennady Golovkin, the talented middleweight who's career has been moving too slowly.

        Golovkin as an amateur:

KOed Lucian Bute in the 2003 world tournament
defeated Andre Dirrell in the 2004 Olympics
defeated Matvey Korobov and Andy Lee

But Universum/Spotlight has been having him fight journeymen who he KOs in the early rounds. It's time for him to fight a top ten middleweight.
