I for one was picking Pacquiao to beat both Hatton and Oscar. The reality is Oscar was a shell of his former self. He could've fought at 154 and still had trouble. When it's your time to bow out, it's your time.

Ricky Hatton to me is one of the most overrated fighters in the last 10 years. Not completely a bum, but Pacquiao visibly was and is light years ahead of him in all dimensions you can name.

With Cotto, he's fighting a prime hard hitting WW with great boxing skills and patience. He's fought much bigger opponents and has fought very well against fighters with speed. The misconception is that Pacquiao is a speed fighter, thus his defense is elusive as well, but that isn't the case. Pacquiao takes risks just like Cotto. The test will be with who can take the punishment better and as of now Cotto's been hit by much harder punchers (and presumably with bricks).

I just dont think Pac can get to 147 so it had to be a catch weight really
ummm....he made it for Oscar...he couldve done it for COtto..but he didnt want to fight Cotto at 100%.Cuz Cotto wouldve completely over powered him.

I think the weight for this fight won't hurt Cotto. He makes 146 easily according to his camp, so 1 lb IMO shouldn't do anything and Cotto himself has stated 145 is no problem at all.

Pac's team were looking for the advantage, but the only advantage they got against Cotto is the purse split.

stop complaining cotto would be ok at 145. 147 is fair enough given that oscar fights at 154. if cotto is a 154 fighter then maybe they would also fight at 147

If Pacman was willingly to fight Oscar at 147, why not Cotto.

              Why you ask??

Pacman needs his opponents to weight drained, it makes him look better. He also picks past their prime fighters such as Morales/Oscar/Hatton to look good as well. He fought a healthy JMM at 130 and got owned.

yeah he came in at 146 for Clottey..145 should be easy..i think Cotto did a great job in the negotiations...he knew Arum would give pac more $$ but as long as he got the weight..he's confident he'll win and that will lead him to MORE $$ in the end.

Well, Morales IMO was past in in the 3rd fight, but Pacquiao simply got better from their 1st and 2nd fight, but Morales was still game at that point and was in the fight. Hatton simply wasn't on the level of Pacquiao and overall was a bad style match up.

He weight 142 for the official weigh in. But if i were to choose he should have just fought Cotto at 147
