  • Kessler-Perdomo Lands in Herning, Denmark on 9/12

Mikkel Kessler´s mandatory title defence against Gusmyl Perdomo will be staged at the MCH Messecenter Herning in Herning, Denmark on September 12. It will be the WBA Super-Middleweight Champion´s final fight before participating in SHOWTIME´s hotly-anticipated Super Six World Boxing Classic. “I am thrilled to be fighting in Denmark again,” Kessler stated. “It is always something special to fight in front of my home fans. I am extremely grateful for their support and I want to pay back with an exciting performance.” [details]

    Very good.

Should get a few rounds in but it shouldn't go more than 6.

Hope he doesn't hurt his hands or gets cut or something wit hthe Ward fight around the corner.

Even though there's a German promoter behind this event, it may be very good news to Danish boxing, not just because of Kessler. Rumours tell about an interesting Danish undercard.

We need that in Denmark. After the golden years in the late 90'es, Danish pro boxing has been on the decline, and for the last few years it has been held in a stranglehold of boxing politics, mainly by the old forces of Danish boxing not willing to let go.

Things might be starting to light up a bit

I can't believe he has to take this fight just a few months before he takes on andre ward in the super 6. If would be funny if he gets beat.

I doubt he will though, but if he's in a tough fight it might have an effect on his bout with ward. Ideally he should try and get Perdomo out of the asap!

Knock his ass out. Get a lil momentum to bring into the tourney against Ward.

Showtime should televise this just to build up the tournament a bit more.

they are for some strange reason even though its a blatant mismatch of epic proportions. its gonna be a kessler-ward doubleheader from different sites.

Does Ward have an opponent yet?

Hope Kessler makes it out of this fight uninjured and he goes in and takes care of business. I don't think Ward will beat Kessler. Doesn't have the pop to discourage him.
