Mikkel Kessler´s mandatory title defence against Gusmyl Perdomo will be staged at the MCH Messecenter Herning in Herning, Denmark on September 12. Even though there's a German promoter behind this event, it may be very good news to Danish boxing, not just because of Kessler. Rumours tell about an interesting Danish undercard.

We need that in Denmark. After the golden years in the late 90'es, Danish pro boxing has been on the decline, and for the last few years it has been held in a stranglehold of boxing politics, mainly by the old forces of Danish boxing not willing to let go.

I can't believe he has to take this fight just a few months before he takes on andre ward in the super 6. If would be funny if he gets beat.

I doubt he will though, but if he's in a tough fight it might have an effect on his bout with ward. Ideally he should try and get Perdomo out of the asap!

Hope Kessler makes it out of this fight uninjured and he goes in and takes care of business. I don't think Ward will beat Kessler. Doesn't have the pop to discourage him.
