Calzaghe finished up a brilliant career with a 46-0 professional record, and in fact was never beaten in a boxing ring either as an amateur or professional. The criticism on this link is typical of "sour g****s". When you learn something about boxing, you'll understand what I'm saying.
lmao...not even his daddy thought joe won "easily". joe calslappy didnt do **** the first 8 rounds of that fight. hopkins was at least landing some clean left hooks and right hands to the head and body.

& i thought americans were bad for overrating their fighters, we are not in the same league as the brits. they are quite skillful in hyping up fighters.

yes that same over the hill hopkins that beat pavlik. obliterated is too wishful of a word to use to describe the fight in order to reinforce your statement. obliterated is pacquiao icing hatton in 2 rounds. not a unanimous 12 round decision.

hopkins didnt go back to his prime when he beat pavlik. it said more about how good pavlik really is than hopkins not being over the hill.

                  117-109 119-106 118-108

                  Were the scores.

Hopkins wasn't as past it as people make out.

Which 'European bums' getting rematches were these, then? At least make some attempt to get your facts right before spewing crap.

I'm not quite sure why people **** on about Calzaghe 'giving' B-Hop a rematch. He can't stand the man.. why would he 'give' him anything? I would have thought the amount of 'respect' Calzaghe has for B-Hop was painfully obvious from watching the fight. What that might say about Calzaghe's, and even B-Hop's personalities is another matter!

Anyway, mindless haters aside and back on topic, I never could understand why people get so wound up about this 'second' or 'next' so-and-so business. Calzaghe was a great fighter from Wales. Cleverly is a good prospect from Wales that Welsh people hope might turn out to be another great fighter that they can support now that JC has retired. As with the Khan/Hamed thing that's all there is to it.
