Surprised but happy to see Klassen break out of the South African, IBF junior lightweight merry-go-round of soft, hometown defenses to take a chance on a fight with Guerrero. I half-expected him to fight his first defense at home against the undeserving Javier Alvarez, since that's what Fana and Baloyi did. Klassen may be the least talented of the junior lightweight champs but he's got balls to put it on the line away from home against a legit opponent, something Fana and Baloyi wouldn't do.
To show how unusual that is, the IBF has already set up an eliminator for next month against Fana and another South African fighter. The winner will face the winner of Guerrero-Klassen

Those South Africans that have traded the IBF title are the weakest links at 130. The fact that Guerrero is fighting this chump lowers my opinion of him even more on top of the fact that he quit in his last fight on HBO. You've got guys like Soto and Linares, and Golden Boy gives us a **** fight like this. Guerrero struck me as a stand up guy when he knocked out Martin Honario while his wife was struck with cancer. But he rubbed a lot of boxing fans the wrong way with that bail out against the Indonesian guy. I've also got zero interest in watching a Diaz-Paulie fight.

Things hasn't been so good for Guerrero lately, I hope he wins this one and then rematch the NC guy and fight one of the top names of the division. He has a lot of talent just bad luck.
