I like juanma but damn get him some competion.
I like juanma but he needs to start fighting real competition. Juanman has all the tools to become probably the greates pr boxer but they need to start challenging him.Comment

lontchi is NABA and WBO NABO bantam champ ex-carbajal.
he's offense is his quickness in scoring.
he can only win on points against juanma,...if he survives juanma's power.
one thing going for lontchi is that he campaigned long in the featherweight(126)...so maybe he can take junama's punches.Comment

arum's strategy for his priced boxers is to slowly, but surely, build them up.This guy that Lopez is getting ready to fight is not very good. Why not the Japanese guy that knocked out Johnny Gonzalez? I'm a big believer in Juan Ma Lopez, but Arum needs to step up his comp. That is a mistake he made with Cotto in the early portion of his career. Cotto got into this cycle of beating decent, but not spectacular fighters. What I mean is Arum would keep his competition at the very same level for a long period of time and Cotto didn't become as good as he really could have been. And even though Cotto eventually got better where skill is concerned, you wonder if he could have been better overall if Arum didn't match him up with some of the cans that he did.
he pads their resume with decent competions but nothing really serious to avoid a disaster.
look at oscar, floyd and even cotto as u mentioned.
manny is the only different animal that made leaps and bounds by moving up in weight challenging bigger and bigger opponents. forget the catchwt!
that is only because manny has been growing even at later stage (28 yrs old) of his life. and manny's power even improved as he went up in weight, fyting his optimum at 147 in the ring.Comment

Yeah, that's some bull**** big time. Arum was also going to make a fight between Alvarado and Malinaggi. That would have been a garbage fight too. I don't want to see powerful prospects fight punchless boxers for $39.95, or however much money it is. Arum is a piece of ****. I understand that HBO's budget is stretched thin, but why not throw these guys in with more competitive opponents? Juan Ma Lopez is above the prospect level right now and Arum is still matching him up with these cans. The fight with Gerry Penalosa was good because it gave him rounds, but I felt bad for Gerry having to take all that punishment due to his bravery.Comment
