  • Abraham vs. Oral is Announced For 6/27 in Berlin

IBF middleweight champ Arthur Abraham will - as previously reported - defend the title on June 27. Sauerland Event have announced that the site will be the Max Schmeling Hall in Berlin and that the opponent is Mahir Oral. Oral, 25-1-2, is promoted by Arena Box Promotion and turned pro back in 2000. Since joining Arena in 05 his career has taken off but a series of hand injuries have kept the German of Turkish descent from the big breakthrough. Oral was just named official challenger for the vacant EBU title along with another Sauerland promoted in Sebastian Sylvester but will now go for a world title instead. [details]

The Middleweight division is a joke. The three best fighters defend their titles against nobodies in their backyards. It might have to take a guy like Paul Williams going to Germany in order to make an interesting fight.

Wow what kind of last name is Oral? I imagine what that guy went through in school.

Wasn't Abraham fighting Giovanni Lorenzo? I would have rather seen that fight than the Mr. Oral one.

Where do they keep digging AA's opponents from?? He alway seem to end up fighting all this 34-1 or 27-0 fighter, Fighter who you have never heard of before or seen before.

I just hope he gets to fight pavlik soon but with the way Arum is dealing at the moment i wouldnt hold my hopes up.
