Quick question, which sports takes more from an athlete, boxing or basketball?

I always kinda thought that boxing was probably the most physically demanding sport ( on top of MMA and other sports ) but ive been watching this playoff and ive noticed these guys are just running up and down up and down non stop that has to drain you a lot although im not sure if it drains more from u throwing punches, dodging, using ur knees and moving ur head for 45 minutes with only 12 min interval, ive never done either ( ive done 32 mile forced roadmarches with 65 pounds on me so i know a thing or two about physically exhausting activity ) but of course that doesn't compare to a boxer in any way. im just wondering if someone that has done both sports can tell me or just tell me your opinion im just really curious.

boxing beats basketball by a mile. basketball shouldnt even be considar in the hard sports class all the fighting sports then the contact sports and lastly the none contact sports like netball, basketball and knitting.

in basketball you dont have to worry about brain damage, and your life, boxing you do.

          It's apples and oranges.

In basketball you have to be 6'9 250 and be speedy and in shape.

In boxing, you rarely see that.

You have to make weight, and it's the guys under heavy that have to have crazy physical strength, stamina and endurance.

So it's different dynamics to the equation here.

You don't see any 5'7 140 pound hoops players, or it is very rare.

I played basketball all throughout highschool, its not as physically demanding as you think. Maybe it was because I was the big guy and never had to run & gun, I dunno. But I found 2 minutes in a boxing ring way harder than 20 minutes on a basketball court.

basketball is a great game, and its great for fitness and i enjoy watching skilled bball players

but boxing is on a different level as to toughness and endurance and skill

i actually think tennis is probably the most demanding non contact sport, the endurance and fitness they need is incredible and they need to be very fast and skilful also

but the toughest sport is without a doubt boxing

this isn't about which one is more physical its about which take more from an athlete. I have done several sports basketball, football, track, soccer, boxing etc. All have there different difficulties and demands from a physical and mental aspect. If we are talking about training to be the best their all about the same.
