It’s thanks to that six-fight plan that the Mexican boxer-puncher is now in position to capture a title in second weight class. That opportunity comes this weekend, when super bantamweight titlist Toshiaki Nishioka (Tokyo, Japan, 33-4-3, 20KO) travels to Gonzalez’ homeland of Mexico in their title fight main event (Saturday, Arena Monterey, Monterey, MX). that loss was very dissapointing, granted penalosa landed a great shot to the body, it was dissapointing because it was obvious who the better fighter was, and you hate to see a young guy losing to someone whos really not much more than a gatekeeper at this point.

If jhonny wins this fight, he will have to face el magnifico after he returns from his medical suspension, he'll probably take a tune up fight, but we might get to see a rematch of their slug fest from a couple of years ago, of course the return of vasquez also means a possible fourth fight against rafa marquez, so the return of vasquez will be nothing but great news when he comes back......

Everyone forgets he had Izzy in a world of trouble.

He's exciting as ****, win or lose.


He's been on a tear, if he wins against the Japanese dude, his cache will multiply.

But I really have to see him win the big one to get behind him.

Just don't know if he can do that.

He can be there and have a battle, but he needs to close the show when he has dudes hurt.
