Who is more talented Roy Jones(PRIME) OR Floyd Mayweather???..EPIC DISCUSSION!!!!

    I think its Floyd:

I think RJ was so athletically superior to everyone he ever faced that e got by on that alone....

Floyd having little to no size advantages throught his career.....

had to actually use boxing skills to get by....

    Floyds Skills:

    Hand speed
    Timing
    Reflexes
    Defense
    Chin
    Counter punching
    Ring Smarts
    Agility
    Accuracy

    RJJ'S Attributes:

    Size
    Power
    Hand speed
    Reflexes

I think Floyd is much more sound fundementally and an overall better fighter then Roy Jones.

    If you follow the NFL:

I compare RJ to a guy like Michael Vick....a guy who was an athletic freak and changed the NFL forever....but when you hit him...hes easier to contain and less prone to run out the pocket...when you hit RJ....hes not the same...he doesnt like getting hit.

I compare Floyd to Peyotn Manning or Tom Brady....strong in every area...athletic with a brain thats on level with their athleticsm...very textbook...little to no flaws...and keeps winning...

    What say you?

You're right on the fundamentals part, I think Floyd is better there. If there was any way that these two could have fought, comfortably, in the past I think RJJ wins it. Hopkins was very fundamentally sound when he fought RJJ but Jones athleticism got him by any one, including Toney who was the founder of the modern shoulder roll. Back to the topic, FMJ has the advantage on overall boxing skills.

I disagree. Roy's downfall is because of his lack of boxing fundamentals. Hopkins is able to fight on at such an advanced age because he is a fighter that relies on his boxing skills, RJJ relied on his reflexes. Don't get me wrong, I think Prime Roy is better than FMJ, P4P.

the only thing floyd has is a better fundamental base...everything else is roy...even defense...at the height of his prime, his reflexes and sheer athleticism prevented him from getting tagged

from 1993 to 2003, the level of Roy's dominance had him winning bouts without losing a single round...its the kind of dominance you compare to tiger woods or jordan in his prime

this one is easy....Roy > Floyd...either you're too young or 'yall musta forgot'

If RJ had more boxing skills he wouldnt got KOd all those times....

Thats why Hopkins got his ass beat by Roy...and years later look where Hops is....

Beating the **** out of guys LIKE kELLY pAVLIK...

Hopkins has the skills to avoid getting hit by using boxing skills..like Floyd does..Roy uses his relexes....once those reflexes went away Roy had nothing to fall back on.

When Floyd reflexes go away...hell still be hard to beat because of his defense...and timing.

                  Floyd has the better fundamentals.

Roy's raw natural talent outshines the fundamentals though. Roy was able to dominate lb 4 lb with the bulk of it on just ability. Ability we wont see for a very very long time.

and hahaha @ roy having a size advantage, roy jones more than half of the time has fought opponents bigger than him, look at john ruiz, tarver, gonzalez, b-hop, harding, hill, hall, you name it, just about every opponent of jones was bigger than him
