Fighters slow down as they hit the latter rounds. We all know this. Some slow more than others. But Taylor is no George Foreman or Frank Bruno. He was always going to start quicker than Froch and if the fight lasted the duration he was always going to be hit more often as the rounds ticked by.
What did him was the eleventh. At first I thought he slipped that bomb that Froch threw. There was a weird pause before his legs turned to rubber. You could tell that he was hurt but Froch didn't have the time to press home the advantage. Coming out for round twelve Taylor was clearly still feeling the effects of that punch. Which gave Froch the opportunity he'd been waiting for.
