At the Challenge Stadium in Perth, Australia, former WBA light heavyweight champion Danny Green (25-3, 23KOs) returned to the ring after a brief retirement stint to stop Anthony Van Niekirk (21-7-2, 13KOs) in two rounds. Green appeared to be too stong from the first minute of the fight. He shook Van Niekirk with every punch. In the second, he dropped him with a left/right combination. He was sent down again moments later with a hard right hand that got the stoppage. [details]

Someone should tell Green that Mundine isn't interested in fighting him again.
Good to see Green beating up bums again. -

Green Is A Joke
Green's performance was laughable at the fight, I was there. The opponent was handpicked to lose, had Green's name on his shorts & useless. Green called the fight "operation get Mundine" & spoke like he hadnt already been flogged by Mundine. Not that this is the first time Green has talked ****, but lets be straight here...Green has no intentions of fighting Dawson, Glen Johnson or anyone that is A grade, yet all the rednecks includng the local newspaper writers that no zero about boxing, thought "wow". Green said he could KO king kong after the fight. Nuff said.Comment
