would you consider pacquiao the best 140 pounder if he beats hatton?

Honestly, I'm having doubts myself about Ricky Hatton being the man at 140 too. There's four (or 5?) Jr. welterweight champions out there at the moment, and Ricky hasn't fought any one of them yet. It just so happen Hatton beat the man back in 05, and now he's the man. A king has to lay it on the line once in a while to prove to all and sundry that he's still the man. It's been 4 years now and I'm still waiting.

Exactly thats just my own opinion and am just expressing it not forcing it on anyone, Since Hatton won the ring belt from Tsyzu he has fought maussa, urango, castillo, Luzcano and paul M at 140....I would only give him credit for the Pauli M win because he was the number 2 guy when Hatton fought him.

Yes, Pacman would be recognise as the "Man" the ring belt but he wouldnt necessarily be the best at 140, Baldomir was recognise as the "Man" at 147 but he wasnt necessarily the best at 147 when Mayweather fought and beat him.

the 3 champions at the moment are Bradley, Urango and Kotelnik

          Hatton has beat Urango.

Castillio and Malinaggi where both ranked No1 contenders when he beat them.

you do know that they call you the 'man' because you are the best right? your opinion may differ on who's the best fighter but you are a minority, the majority calls the best fighter the 'man'

Then I stand corrected! I was probably so engrossed at Ricky's adventure at 147 that I totally forgot about Juan Urango, who if my memory serves me right, fought for the vacant IBF Jr. welterweight crown and won?
