Matthew Hatton Wants To Come out of Ricky's Shadow

Welterweight Matthew Hatton wants to step out of the shadow of big brother, Ricky Hatton. On March 28 in Altrincham, he faces Ted Bami in show being presented under his own family company, Hatton Promotions. Matthew says that his career was slowed because former trainer Billy Graham often ignored him and gave most of the attention to brother Ricky. Matthew broke away from Graham last year and is now trained by the combination of Lee Beard and Floyd Mayweather Sr. Big brother Ricky is now Matthew's manager. [details]

No really, that fight should be an undercard fight on May 2nd. It would build excitement for the 'real' family winners. I would LOVE to see it too.

Bobby Pacquiao is a good fighter, just not a great. And if they could meet at a catchweight Bobby would most likely beat Matthew Hatton... Matt has never impressed me ever, Ricky is like 1,000 times better then Matt could ever dream of. Matt could fight Ricky 1,000 times and he'd probably get ko'd 1,000 times if Ricky didn't hold back.

And yes, I 'm talking about Hatton not Bobby now.

A friend of mine and I came up with it. That would be a real interesting fight to have on the undercard. However I don't think you could give Manny or Ricky the results until after the fight.. That could mess with their psyches.

Fair play to him I understand what he means, did you see the Hatton vs Mallignagie fight when Matthew Hatton fought on the under card and won decisively and the announcer made a mistake and said "Ricky... er Matthew Hatton", I know it was a mistake and all but it must of felt a bit bad.

That's a rather large shadow to try to come out from
