Underdog Delvin Rodriguez Now in Enviable Spot At 147

By Ryan ******** - The road to the top is paved in gold for few boxers who aren't Olympic gold medalists. Then again, few things in life have come easy for Delvin Rodriguez.

Only reason Delvin Rodriguez is in an enviable spot is because he is a name Top 10 contender that any of the better welterweights would dominate and destroy without being accused of taking a "soft" opponent. Rodriguez had a hard time with a couple of nobodies in his last couple of fights, yet he's got himeself a little name recognition. Cotto, Berto, Mosley, Clottey, Margarito, Pacquiao, Hatton - none of these guys would have mush trouble knocking Delvin out. Easy fight to stay busy or an easy defense for any of these dudes without too many complaints. Yes, Rodriguez has earned a little shot at a titile, but has anyone seen anything that makes you think he could win? Not me.

So yeah, he's in an enviable spot to get his shot and get a nice little payday, but little more.

So should they just tack the 'L' onto his record without a fight, just to save time?

Of course not, the fight still needs to happen, and again, Rodriguez can get his shot. I'm just saying the postion in enviable because its his chance at a champ or a bigger pay day. Still, the prospect of him actually winning the fight against any of those I mentioned is slim to none.
