I don't see his resume as "great", though it has gone up of late. Certainly his middleweight run wasn't spectacular IMO.

I mean, love at the man in your avatar then ask me why I don't rate Hopkins that highly.

Hopkins cracks the top 50 on my top 100 list, somewhere around 44-48. Calzaghe is #80 on my list. Though it's been a while since I updated it, he could make the top 75 perhaps.

I see no reason why anybody would put Jones above Hopkins on that list though. As Duke said, a lot of his career was smoke and mirrors. I know multiple titles in multiple weight classes is supposed to be the "be all, end all" of our sport (or at least it's looked upon that way here), but consecutive title defenses (and especially record breaking ones), equal that IMO.

Not to mention Roy got starched by the crackhead Hopkins dominated twice, got starched again by Johnson, a guy Hopkins TKO'd 10 years ago, and got son'd by Calzaghe, a guy Hopkins had a highly contested, much disputed SD loss to.

Not to mention the tail end of their careers, Hopkins beat Tarver, Wright, and Pavlik. While Jones beat Hanshaw, Prince Whoever, and the corpse of Trinidad. A guy Hopkins vanquished ages ago.

      Hopkins > Jones.

        Bob Fiszimmons > Roy Jones.

Bob won his titles legitimately. He fought the men in each division.

Roy can **** off - being handed belts just doesn't cut it.... I don't give a fook how good you danced against a Copper.

In fairness Roy was shot to **** when he faced The Blow. And Hopkins beat Tarver twice? Wow, I bet even he didn't know that.

Roy lost to Tarver twice. Not Hopkins beat Tarver twice. Actually, Roy lost to Tarver 3 times. He got a gift in the first fight.

Oh I see, yeah. And he was lucky in the first one, yeah. Unless you're talking to a Roy fan, then Roy dominated.
