Never worked hard and it affected his career.
it argue he had more skill jones and calzaghe's physical gifts put him above toney though.

You have got to be kidding !!!

James Toney is on the list of the most skilled boxers in the last 20 years. Put Toney in with any of those fighters in his prime he wins. Granted he did lose to Jones in the mid 90's, but Hopkins and Calzaghe, he beats both fighters in his prime. He was a champion before any of these fighters... Are you forgetting he did defeat a heavyweight champion. The same Champion that Jones defeated, John Ruiz. He also held titles in the middleweight division, super middleweight division, ligth heavyweight division and cruiserweight.

Do your research before you make absurd remarks, please. lol

And I think Peter was rated in the top 3 of the heavyweights at one point.
I agree. Tony is an ATG and probably on the same level as Joe c and Hopkins in terms of greatness. RJJ is a slightly above all three IMO..

Ruiz was considered the #3 Heavyweight in the world when Toney beat him.
Holyfield was considered the #5 heavyweight in the world when Toney knocked him out.
Sam Peter was considered the #3 Heavyweight in the world when Toney got robbed against him.
Hasim Rahman was considered the #2 Heavyweight in the world when Toney got a Draw against him(which he probebly deserved to lose though)

yes, its an awful heavyweight division, but still.

Michael Nunn was considered the #3 p4p in the world when Toney knocked him out, only behind Pernell Whitaker and Julio Cesar Chavez.

Prime has everything to do with it, ******. If you had noticed the prime maybe you wouldn't have responded to me.

Unless your argument is that Hopkins is still in his prime, ignoring the 14-year period where he went UNDEFEATED. ****ing clown with your dumbass thread.

Toney has a better resume than Calzaghe. DEAL WIT IT.

Calzaghe ain't even considered an ATG where as Toney is

prime has nothing to do with it, hopkins in his prime was still #2 or #3 behind jones anyway.

james toney has a pathetic resume btw besides 4-5 good names.
