Gary Russell Jr. Ready To Start Over - in The Pros

By Jake Donovan - There’s no greater opportunity for most amateur boxers than to represent their country in the Summer Olympics. No matter what happens from there, be it winning Olympic Gold or being sent packing in the opening round of competition, the memories are still enough to last a life time. [details]

I agree. Confident, yet humble. He was given a bad rap during the run to the Olympics. The media tried to paint his Pops and him as difficult. Guess that's what happens when you judge from the outside looking in, rather than going straight to the source.

Yeah, he seems to have taken the Olympic disappointment really well too. Pretty much the same thing happened to Michael Simms, got called a trouble maker and even got kicked off the Olympic team for misconduct but there are 2 sides to every story as the saying goes.

Can't wait to see him be a champion.. I am from the DC/MD area and watched his brothers and all of them are good. His older brother was the truth !!!
No doubt he will be a champion. His father has done a tremendous job with all his sons. Much respect to him..
