  • Manny Pacquiao – The Greatest Filipino Fighter of All Time

By Ronnie Nathanielsz - To appreciate the greatness of Manny Pacquiao one has to reach into his childhood days to realize where he came from and then proceed to evaluate – and be mesmerized – by what he has achieved not just for himself and his family but for his country and people. [details]

It's perhaps a bit crass to anoint him with this accolade over Pancho Villa before he has retired - Pacquiao himself would probably agree. Pacquiao is almost certainly the objectively better fighter, but the place for such career evaluations is post-retirement.

Manny Pacquiao, Pancho Villa, Elorde, Eleuterio Zapanta, Caferino Garcia would all pale in comparison to the super-human Filipino boxer ALA Gym of Cebu is cooking right now. Forget Bautista, Gorres and Banal, this guy is the REAL THING, his name is....

{People are talking about Pac as one of the greatest b oxers....period. So i would assume he must be the best Filipiono or at least a top candidate. But sorry but my knowledge of past great philipinos is limited to say the least.

PAC at this point has considerably achieved more than Elorde or Villa, both first Asian HOFers as classical & modern day greats ....

and PAC has surpassed that and is currently ATG Asian Fighter and still going even higher, there is no need to wait for post-retirement evaluation ...
