Rendall Munroe, Darren Sutherland, Jason Booth Grab Wins

European super bantamweight champion Rendall Munroe solidified his top ten world ranking with a sterling performance to stop Italian titlist Fabrizio Trotta at 1:27 of the fifth round last night at City University In Dublin, Ireland.

Munroe overcame a slow start to hammer away at Trotta's body and take over the contest by the third frame before the Italian claimed he could not continued after injuring his right wrist in the fifth.

2008 Olympic Bronze Medallist Darren Sutherland delivered upon expectations with a torrid professional debut to knock out Bulgarian opponent Georgi Iliev at 2:44 of the first round at super middleweight. The 26 year old Irishman blazed away from the start, unleashing a two handed attack that had Iliev reeling.

Commonwealth bantamweight champion Jason Booth retained his title for a second time by mounting a vicious body assault to stop challenger Sean Hughes in impressive fashion during the tenth round

Irish super bantamweight titlist Paul Hyland outboxed top domestic challenger Eugene Heagney to post a six round points decision win and ex-British bantamweight champion Martin Power was gunned down in the second by super bantam Gary Davis. [details]

His slow starting is going to catch up with him one day against someone good. He's got the tools though.

As for Sutherland, I'm yet to be convinced. He doesn't look like a SMW to me - I can see him going down a weight. Plus he's rather old to be turning pro. Has potential though, but they'll have to rush him through.
