Bert Sugar: "Oscar is a great fighter but he is NOT on my top 100"

I just saw Bert Sugar's interview on FAN590, a popular sports radio program and he mentioned that Dela Hoya is a great fighter but not in his Top 100. Here was how it went, not verbatim, but somewhere along these lines.

Host: "Is Oscar a great fighter?"
Bert: "Yes, but he is not on my top 100. The bulk of his work doesn't quite get him in there. One of the marks of a true great is 'meeting and beating them' and not just 'meeting them'."

Do you agree with Bert that of Dela Hoya is NOT a Top 100 ATG? If he is, where would you put him?

Burt is dead on. Oscar is no where near a top 100 ATG list. He's more 200ish slightly behind Trinidad.

To me, he should be a HOF for sure, wouldn't be so positive about putting him in the ATG list. Bert Sugar is a bad a&&, I wish HBO would one day hire him as a commentator and take out Larry or Max, Sugar knows his stuff...

Well to be honest, his top 100 is pretty ****ty. Awesome book, but the ranking itself is pretty bad.

As for top 100, it's to hard to say man. I hate ranking fighters pound for pound
