Daniel Santos Sacrificing For Nobuhiro Ishida Defense

WBA junior middleweight champion Daniel Santos (32-3, 23KOs) is sacrificing a lot for his January 3 defense against Nobuhiro Ishida (25-5-2, 7KOs). Santos will travel to the challenger's home turf of Japan for the fight. It will be the first defense for Santos since the knockout win over previously unbeaten Joachim Alcine to capture the title. Because the fight is coming up so soon, Santos is away from his family and forced to train through Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. [details]

Maybe this will be the start of the resurgence of Daniel Santos. I've been following his career since the start and he always had talent. What he didn't have was discipline, I hope that has changed. This should be good tune up for Santos mid fight TKO.

He's probably getting good money for this.
It's always nice to see champs travel to other people's backyards and beat em.

Your right! He should fight Mora or Forrest. I think Mora would be better financially and personally...Plus the rivalry obviously. How about Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.? Interesting test for JCC jr. plus to see if Santos can deal with a young gun...plus rivalry again.

Santos would KTFO JCC Jr.Chavez is well protected, as soon as he steps up in competition he will get whooped. Santos is still good enough to beat the top 154 pounder, putting him with Chavecito is a insult!!!!!!! No offense!!!!!!

It's not only an insult, it's murder! Chavez Jr. has never seen anybody with the skills of Santos.
