A bit of research Saunders won the bronze at the 07 world amateur championship so I guess he was a good prospect. This could be a career killer though.

    Bad news for british boxing

OLYMPIC boxer Bradley Saunders has been arrested on su****ion of drug dealing after a stash of ******* was found in his garden.
Cops who raided his home on a tip-off found £12,000 of the Class A drug in a biscuit tin.

If Saunders, 22, is convicted it will kill off the career of one of the country’s top young boxers. He was one of our best hopes for a gold at the summer’s Beijing Games but crashed out after two fights — then sparked outrage by saying he was glad he was on his way home.

The light-welterweight yesterday insisted he was innocent, saying: “I know nothing about any drugs.”

Saunders was at home with girlfriend Stephanie Elliott, also 22, when around seven officers and a drugs sniffer dog swooped on Monday. It found the drugs under plastic sheeting in the back garden.

Saunders and Stephanie were arrested and taken in handcuffs to a police station where they spent six hours in cells.

The couple, who have a two-year-old son, were released on police bail.
Saunders, of Sedgefield, Co Durham, added yesterday: “Since my face has become known I’ve become a target.

“Our house was burgled recently as we slept. People get jealous and can take against you.”

Saunders sparked fury over his comments on the Olympics.

He was dubbed a loser and accused of squandering £140,000 of National Lottery training money.

He later said the remark had been misinterpreted and he had gone all-out for a medal.

Durham Police said: “A 22-year-old man and his girlfriend, also 22, were arrested on su****ion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and released on bail.”

I found this on a british boxing site, I've never heard of him but apparently he was highly touted.
