At 26, Dawson's resume already threatens Calzaghe's!!!

I'd say Tarver is in better shape right now then Roy Jones is.I would agree that Adamek is the same as Joe's win against Kessler, which is both their best wins.
For Tarver: he was not the same when he moved back down and Tarver beat a deflated Jones Jr. Tarver also went through some tough fights against Johnson so one could argue he was worn down.
Dawson didn't look so hot beating Glen Johnson either, but I guess given some of Calzaghe's sub-par performances I've seen back in the day, maybe I'll let it slide. Johnson is a tough fighter, I'll give you that...plus, Joe backed out of a fight with him a couple of times.
Other than that, Dawson still has a lot to prove. I think he is good, but people are starting to overrate him, which is common with fans and their hopes to see the next great thing.
We'll see if he gets better and can prove to be a "great," which is tough given the long history of great fighters at Light-Heavyweight.
I do agree people are over rating him too much though.Comment

I woudn't really call Lacy a good name to have on a resume. He was obviously VERY overrated.Although i agree Calzaghe has a better resume as of now (mostly because of Lacy and Kessler) Dawson already has his Kessler in Adamek and his Roy Jones in the man who originally beat Roy Jones, Tarver. He also arguably, true but still, beat Jonhson who is a handful for anyone even past his prime. Lets not forget Chad, at 26 already has fought and beat 3 undefeated guys one of which a champion. Tarver was also the champion so that makes 2 great and good champions in resume. And he's 10 years younger than Calzaghe. At 26 Calzaghe had ONLY past his prime Eubanks worth mentioning. I'm guessing people soon will be saying Joe Who?Comment

IMO its really to early to call...He may surpass Joe's status but time will tell. He hasnt done enough yet but he still has a chance because he's rather young.Although i agree Calzaghe has a better resume as of now (mostly because of Lacy and Kessler) Dawson already has his Kessler in Adamek and his Roy Jones in the man who originally beat Roy Jones, Tarver. I thought i mentioned Johnson, well, he arguably won that fight but it's debatable of course. He looked awful in doing so. I tell you what, in not fighting this guy now, Calzaghe is making the same mistake Jones did not fighting him when he was able. Not comparing Jones and Zaghe in class though. I don't think Calzaghe is an ATG but he does have a chance to beat Dawson and possible remain relevant for longer after retirement. But instead Zaghe will continue to fight grandpas and such and when Dawson is a bigger star and matured and corrected his flaws, Calzaghe will want to comeback taking a bad beating like Jones or stay retired and lose his bright faster than he got it. I don't see what people see so special about Calzaghe. I think he's very active for a 36 year old but he's also VERY open to counters and can't punch correctly. Chad would land counters 9 out of 10 times for 12 full rounds, unlike the grandpas who couldn't do it for 12 or at all (Jones). He also can be bullied buy a stronger man and that's when all those things who made Joe a good fighter go out the window, sort of like when Cotto met Margarito and realized he couldn't dictate the pace no more. The memory i have of JC is him trying to emulate Roy of old, vs shot Roy and still getting caught. That was like "nice try but no cigar". He's also disrespectful to his opponents during fights not realizing he would lose that same fight 8 years ago vs both Bernard and Jones. That's what really makes me hate the guy. The fighter i hate because he's arguably the most overrated fighter today.I would agree that Adamek is the same as Joe's win against Kessler, which is both their best wins.
