David Tua vs. Shane Cameron Back On: 50-50 Split

After talks appeared to have died last week, some last minute positioning of money has made the potential battle of New Zealand heavyweight rivals a reality. Both sides indicate that a 2009 battle between David Tua and Shane Cameron is closer than it's ever been. One of the big obstacles to overcome was the money. Cameron was insisting on a 50-50 split with both of them getting the same purse. It didn't appear possible, but now promoter David Higgins, the middleman trying to make the fight happen in March or April, says that he secured additional funds to pay each fighter $400,000. tua fears no man.

arreola is tailor made for tua. arreola is probably the only top ranked fighter left tua has a chance of beating.

tua is in the twilight of his career. he's trying to get as much money possible. i still haven't heard details about what arreola's people offered.

Arreola has been calling him out forever now, HBO wants the fight and the fans want to see it. I don't know how much they offered him but it will be a lot more then what he makes fighting bums like Saul Montana and Cerrone Fox.

those guys were keep busy fights.

so just because arreola is calling him out it means he's getting a fair deal?

tua is very mismanaged his whole career. tua is not ducking arreola. why would he be scared of arreola? the guy is as slow as tua is now! lol

tua is just trying to get as much money as he can. can you blame him?

the offer for an arreola fight didn't really happen 'til after the montana and cerrone fights. those fights were just to get the rust off and keep busy.

until you find out how much arreola was offering then say something. for all we know he got offered less money than he's getting paid now to fight shane cameron. who knows?

              oh one more thing.....

whenever i hear an up and coming fighter call out a more established one and there's talk of that up and comer being avoided......

i like to check out who he ends up fighting after the "alleged" deal fell through or the "duck" happened......

looking at who he just fought last september and who he is a scheduled to fight now......i don't think arreola's handlers really wanted to put him in against a top level guy. even a fat one who is possibly shot.

                  me too......how about haye-tua or peter-tua? i'm dreaming of course......not gonna happen.

he has like 20 something wins and 1 loss and has a bunch of meaningless regional belts. wba pan-pacific , wbo asian , ibf oriental or crap like that.

he has 1 loss to friday ahunanya who is okay i guess. the rest of his wins are against guys with like 20-3 , 17-4 , 16-5 , etc. winning records but you don't know who they fought.
