What explains Roy Jones' performance?

Its not that simple. Everyone is paranoid about a spin...that don't want a spin on Joe's win. But its a reasonable spin, its not like its a lie that Roy was no longer an elite fighter. -
I think Roy did try hard. I think fans need to come to the realization that most fighters are not Bernard Hopkins as far as longevity. Hes a special case.
SLW, go look at Leonard against Terry Norris. Or Leonard against Hector Camacho.
All good things come to an end.Leave a comment:

To be honest RJJ hasnt been the same since he got knocked out cold by Glen johnson, He has fought to survive since then he was done mentally, He has been trying to regain his confidence and has been lying to himself to make himself feel better..
The thing is we are all human being Nobody is superman, So when you have it then you have and when its gone then it gone.Leave a comment:

Mentally and physically done. Roy's slowed reflexes and handspeed really showed against Calzaghe.
Roy still looked real fast, but it was against fighters with average handspeed like Tarver, Ajamu, Hanshaw and Tito. Plus Roy can't fight at that high pace anymore.
I picked Roy because I thought he would counter calz and hurt him. He did, but Calz kept coming.Leave a comment:

Like it says on Hbo's boxing site.

What explains Roy Jones' performance?
Although it wasn't a surprise, I still had this feeling that he COULD have done more. Even though I felt he could have done more, I still expected that he wouldn't actualize that reality, for whatever reason. So what is it?
1) Is he mentally shot?
2) Is he physically shot?
If Roy had Bernard Hopkins' mental 'freshness' going into last night, would he have tried harder and been able to win? Or if he had tried harder would Roy just have gotten tired more quickly?
