I knew it. He had been looking absolutely terrible in the week leading up to this fight. He was actually looking chubby. He's ****ed. He has taken this so lightly that he will struggle to make weight and lose a lot of his stamina through trying to pull off weight at the last minute. I had never seen him look anything like this previous to a fight. He always looked very lean and well trained whereas for this fight he looked as though he had hardly trained at all leading up to it.
I think we're going to be in for a big surprise. Calzonie will not do well like this. If anything he needed to come in lighter because if he is even a little slower than normal it will be too slow and if he doesn't have full stamina then it will not be enough stamina. This will make him just that little bit slower and the weight will make him that little bit extra tired. I foresee bad tidings for Calzonie in this fight.
Too lax thinking it was going to be an easy fight. Too ****y and too lazy.Comment

I just got a warm glow reading that. Let's hope you're right.

It's a very ****** thing to underestimate Jones, even at this point.

Indeed it is Silencers mate. I'm obviously exaggerating somewhat but I really do believe that Calz has taken this fight much lighter than he should have. Even in the weigh-in he wasn't looking too great. Kind of flat and undefined. I just wonder what it will do to his stamina and speed. That is basically what he needs most in order to beat Jones. Full speed and full stamina and if he is coming in just that little bit under-trained and overweight he will lose a lot of that, making him just that little bit slower and having just a little less stamina to keep throwing throughout the whole fight.
After all, it is not as though he still has the power to hurt Jones with one punch and so without those gifts that he absolutely has to rely on in this fight, what else does he have? He won't knock him out with one punch and probably doesn't even have a fight changing punch left in him anymore sadly. He needs to be fast and agile to do what he does best, which is get the angles and throw lots of fast, quick combinations and then get in and out, etc etc. Without those Jones could be likely to catch him coming in or in the middle of a combination if they are a little slower than usual.
I guess we'll see quite soon. You're right though, whether Jones is shot or not, he still has what it takes to beat everyone but the elite guys and still has what it takes to even give the elite a lot of trouble with his speed and power combined. Hard fight for anyone at any stage, but especially someone who can't rely on powerful hands anymore and who is slowing down and getting old himself.Comment
