  • Hasim Rahman Will Get Wiped-Out by Klitschko

By T.K. Stewart - Who knew that on the day that young Russian heavyweight Alexander Povetkin caught his foot on a tree root while jogging that it would lead to Hasim Rahman getting beat up a couple weeks before Christmas? [details]

I agree. This guy quit in his last fight and gets rewarded with an unified title shot? ****ing boxing. If anyone should be getting this shot it's Toney, but he won't because Rahman is the safe pick. I hope HBO has the balls to drop this mismatch, but they don't, so they won't.

They can easily put 2 great fight with the type of money they give that boring ass motha****a. Good thing Showtime has an actual fight with an undercard that night, and it's not just this garbage.

Toney was not available, he is scheduled to fight Tony Thompson in December.

Another S*** Heavyweight fight. I'm sure Wlad will play patty cake with his jab while Rahman comes to collect a check and bore us to death.

HBO should not carry this fight save the millions on this fight that NO ONE is interested in seeing and put towards 09's budget and give us the Cotto-Margarito rematch on regular HBO. Then hype that up NO DOUBT you'll get alot of viewers and with those two fighters styles new Boxing fans will be born or instead pay the millions to watch Wlad ***** slap Rahman around and instead of gaining fans you'll continue to lose more fans from this joke of a fight!!!

I'm kind of surprised boxingscene is publishing something like this.

I mean, it's 330 in the morning, and I'm just having trouble getting back to sleep, but did I miss some irony somewhere or does this look like Rick Reeno is letting 'Wlad Owns' type as if he was a legit journalist?

Nothing about this article screams 'professional'...or was that the point?

if theres two fighters that personify all that is wrong with boxing today and boxing politics it is zab judah and hasim rahman.

both ave them are living off past glories and no matter how many times they fail they always seem to find a way of engineering a title shot or a big bucks fight. it stinks!! all this in the name of hopefully getting some mainstream recognition, yet in the end all that the networks and promoters manage to do is further tarnish the name of a great sport.

                    rahman

One thing about Rahman, he can punch.. I always give a puncher a chance with the Klitschkos. Rahman is no Sam Peter, he has a jab and a decent right hand; Lennox Lewis can attest to that. The Klitschkos are vulnerable champs anyway..
Maybe this will be his last opportunity for a title. Besides heavyweights make good money. Hell I would would fight a Heavyweight Champ in a minute....
