David Tua vs. Shane Cameron Talks are Heating Up

Talks for the biggest heavyweight fight in New Zealand are heating up. As reported last week, David Higgins of event management company Duco Ltd, put a big offer on the table to make a fight between hometown rivals David Tua and Shane Cameron. The two sides spoke about the fight last and an offer was made to Cameron. [details]

Sort of, Tunney. In the sad state of the heavyweight division, any Tua win always propels him into talks of fights against name opponents. He never takes them because he has no interest in being challenged, but it would have that relevance, especially since a couple people have actually heard of Cameron. And if Cameron were to win, a W over Tua on the resume will propel him to some sort of meaningful fight. True, it shouldn't mean anything, but in this sorry shamble of a division it will.

Thats bull**** cussie...anyways hes had plastic surgery on the eyes to stop the bleeding...Cameron will win this and he may even KO Tua.

That ain't bull**** bro. His last fight was on Maori tv a couple of weeks ago and he was being wobbled by a journeyman.He was cut in that fight too. Cameron will go down and stay down after the first big left hook that lands clean.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think Cameron has the ability to KO Tua?

I dont want to argue with a fellow Kiwi mate (even though im in Aussie) IMO Cameron will be to quick for Tua and if he can KO big Bob Mirovic with a left then he can do the same to Tua.
I like Tua but he is sluggish...and I know hes been inactive but you can still bet he will come into this fight overweight and unfit and will be hoping for a KO.
That guy he beat last fight had never been grounded either so Cameron was the first.
Shane isint big either for a heavyweight (6"3) but thats bound to help him against Tuas 5"1 LMFAO.

You make a couple of good points there mate. Getting a KO win over Mirovic isn't an easy thing to do and it's very likely that Tua would be in poor shape physically. I just can't see Cameron avoiding that left hook and we all know what happens when Tua catches someone clean. I don't have much time for either fighter to be honest but it would be good for kiwi boxing if this fight comes off.

Tua disappears and reappears more often than Criss Angel but i'd be willing to bet that he could still make a big run through the bottom half of the top 10before lossing to one of the Klitschkos.
