Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. - At Zero Tolerance

Im more interested in Omars boxing career then Jr.s and whats ****ed up too is you can see by Omars opponets that they are better then when Jr. was getting fed opponets. I still think Omar will be the better of the two sons. But he like Jr. gots to keep focused and train everyday. -
You're a ****en idiot read the article before talking **** about the writer. He was actually very neutral and was kind to Chavez.what if he comes in on Saturday and knocks vanda out? It's known that doctors didn't want him to fight the first time due to him being sick but he still went out and fought. Chavez doesn't even have an amateur career he's still learning. Writers like this dufous are really out of things to write about. how many great fighters do we have today that had early losses in their careers? pacquiao, castillo, margarito, mijares, hopkins, wright....just to name a few. People are expecting to much out of chavez. he's barely in his 20, no amateur career and this writer is acting like chavez is this failure when he's yet to even get started. It's amazing how people hate you when your making money, i guess people hate that chavez is his dad and that he's known and making money. Get over it! It's like hating Michael Jordan son because he's not as good as his dad but oh wait his son is not making money so it's OK.
I belive Chavez that he was sick and i expect him to win but he'll still have to push in this fight to win. What Jr. has to under stand is that he is not as good as his dad, so he has to use his skills differntly then his dad did.
I remember people saying how Jr. is going to reach undefeated status and go unharmed and these were the haters. Now its clear to them how good Chavez was to go undefeated for so long.Leave a comment:

Very good point Rogelio, I like the Jordan analogy, actually Patrick Ewing Jr got cut yesterday by the Knicks!what if he comes in on Saturday and knocks vanda out? I agree with your post for the most part, but unsure of the first statementI don't know who's worse:
A writer who fabricates new uncertainties or the naive reader who doesn't recognize it as just marketing.
Worse than both is the ignorant critic who can't enjoy a boxer because of his own standards.
The critics or 'haters' choose heroes, then measure EVERY other fighter to the best. BUT Not every fighter is the same!
Jr's patience in the ring alone shows a level of quality in itself.
If you can't see his potential then you're too wrapped up in negative critiquing, and you'll miss out on good suspense in his division!
I'm on record as being one of the few in the media who's supported Chavez Jr. for the most part, and that he needs to be judged on his own, not the ridiculous expectation of living up to his father straight out the box.
I've seen tremendous growth in his first four years as a pro, leading up to and including the Rey Sanchez fight. But there's no denying that he and Arum have spent all of this year ****ing the dog.
Can you say in any of his three fights in 2008 that he's looked any better than how he ended 2007?
That he's added new elements to his game?
That his 2008 campaign hasn't been straight exploitation - from the marketing right down to Chavez Jr's training habits for each of his fights?Leave a comment:

you forget to realize that all this about chavez is just bull**** from the media and him expecting him to be just like his dad. All those guys i mentioned are giving a free pass for their losses since they weren't born to a legendary father.Have any of the fighters mentioned above lost or have come close to losing to journeymen and cannon fodder when they were being highly touted about with such great promise?
I suppose I can only speak for myself and a few people I've talked to, but people aren't hating on Chavez Jr. because he's making money, they are fed up with sub par performances against competition he should run over when all he's facing is tomato cans time and time again. He's in the professional ranks where people pay money to see him fight, who wants a poor show? when your own raza is booing you (and your papi) after a performance the other guy won (this happened on two separate occasions) that pretty much gives a strong impression that a famous name will give you in some cases unfair advantages.
Yes, he doesn't have an amateur background all the more reason why I think he shouldn't have been rushed into the pro's. If anybody expected too much of him it was probably his father and handlers. I truly empathize with Chavez Jr. it would just break my heart to see him get knocked out by a club fighter, when going for broke and facing a credible opponent that will elevate your stock considerably would be more understanding.
As you well know the Boxing game is harsh, but the critics are often the most harsh. Chavez Sr. was a born fighter, an enigma in his country that had an almost religious bond with his fans. I think Chavez Jr. will always have to deal with the stigma of being the son of that legend, and living up to his father's expectations as well as the fans is something I believe he's going to get tired of doing. Some fighter's are born with that sense of destiny, in my opinion Chavez Jr. isn't one of them.Leave a comment:
