i agree 100% Finally someone who knows what they are talkin bout. cal-slappy fought bums and journey men his whole career and UK fans think he's some legendyour a douche!! and calzaghe is a euro ***** and fought at a weight class for 15 years where there were no other real opponents , Lacy and Kessler are both jokes, and he didnt even beat hopkins and bhop didnt fight nearly as hard against him as he did against pavlik. joe should shut his mouth and fight. his resume is **** , and roy jones who isnt a top 5 light heavy weight will knock his ass out! whooopComment

thats complete nonsense! joe won that fight fair and square, all bernard wanted to do was hug and hit joe in the bollocks! the one time joe strayed low(thigh) nard went down holding his nuts like a *****.one or two times he hit joe clean, and the one in the first was a well timed shot, but not a hurtful one.its completely moronic all these comments about slaps..ask jeff lacy how hard joe slaps.it really pisses me off that armchair pundits who supposedly love this sport show so much disrespect and cynicism for those with the balls to try and make a living out of it,whilst giving us the entertainment we all want.and the truly sad thing is that most of this ****e seems to eminate from america.u cannot be serious.......
hopkins knocked joe down..........and basically should've won the fight b/c he landed the bigger, cleaner punches.
as hopkins stated, he was hitting joe in the face, and joe was throwing those...( i still dont know how to describe those punches), and hitting hopkins on the arms, shoulder, knees, and toes!!! like hopkins also said, some people like that style of fighting, and it gives the impression you're doing something when you're really not........
yea, he got winded, but hopkins did, make joe look amateurish.....that's why most ppl still dont give joe credit after "winning" that fight.....i'd hate to say it, but taylor was more impressive in his fights w/ nard that joe was in that one............Comment

If anyone knows how to kick a man when their down its Cal. He still talks about Lacy to this day. But you never hear him talk about anybody before Lacy, and that to me makes me thinks even he knows himself he hasnt fought anybody before Lacy.Comment

**** Calzaghe. A combination punching Hopkins beats Calzaghe. If you thought Joe Calzaghe was done with his verbal venom, he was just getting warmed up. Bernard Hopkins' dominating win over Kelly Pavlik, which took place last Saturday, has lit a fight under Calzaghe and he's spewing plenty of verbals jabs at everyone in sight. For months, he took a lot of heat from fans and the boxing media. They said he beat an old, washed up version of Hopkins back in April. They said he was ducking the challenge of Pavlik. According to Calzaghe, Hopkins' win vindicates him fully, and the only thing on his mind is to kick the ass of Roy Jones Jr. on November 8 at New York's Madison Square Garden. [details]Comment

It seems to me that Joe has a chip on his shoulder. I think that he doesn't truly feel he beat Hopkins. Why would he keep bringing it up? He talks alot of **** about guys that he's not going to face or not willing to fight (Hopkins rematch). If he is so confident why doesn't he accept a rematch and win convincingly, back it up! He is talking about hypothetical situations, he didn't and won't fight Pavlik and the same goes for a rematch with the Executioner. His talk means nothing. I believe that Hopkins beat Calzaghe. He was more efficient and made him look bad. Hopkins did get tired but evne factoring that in he still looked better overall. Hopkins vs Trinidad Hopkins vs Pavlik=two of the most amazing boxing performances I have ever seen. Factor in the age and blows it up to a whole different level.Comment

No, not smarter, just barely smart enough to be an undefeated World Champ for 11 years and make about 30-40 million dollars. No, not smart at all.
Calzaghe is ENTITLED to talk about Pavlik in less than loving terms. He explains it clearly, but none of you criticizing posters seem to have read it. He went through many months of the harshest commentary about his negligible skills, about his "Calslappy"-itis, not considering that he had 32 KO"s or TKO's, [a good 75% KO record], about how he beat "nobodies" and how he was afraid to face Pavlik, who would show him up and easily take his 0...etc.etc...
Any proud man, let alone a SPORTSMAN at the peak of his trade, would be deeply aggrieved at such crap........
Let him complain...he's earned it.Comment
