Joe fought his worst fight in years against Hopkins. Hard-core fans know that. So to them Hopkins isn't a true measuring stick for Pavlik's chances against Joe. Styles makes fights and Pavlik will likely get some more respect from Hopkins power-wise.

I hope Pavlik wins tonight. Hopkins needs to retire already. He's got nothing left to prove and should have retired long ago. It's easy to root for the old man but it's best for boxing if Pavlik wins tonight.

Tua, please name those nuthuggers you are referring to.

      Thoughts?
and if by any chance Pavlik manages to give Hopkins his first loss via stoppage, i'll make Calzaghe look like a turd.

          I want Pavlik to win.

I find it hard to say let Calzaghe fight Pavlik, he is fighting a very live opponent in Jones IMO.

I'd slightly lean towards Pavlik and would very slightly prefer him to win actually, as it'd perhaps be better for boxing. Plus would mean Calzaghe may face him. If he loses it does make Joes win over Hops look better though.

Overall I genuinely just want the best man to win and am not confident on either.

I am a big Calzaghe fan, but I'm cheering for Pavlik tonight.

When Floyd retired without facing Cotto, I criticised him for it. I didn't change my mind after Cotto lost. Likewise I criticise Calzaghe for not wanting a fight with Pavlik, and will still feel the same way if Pavlik loses.

IMO Pavlik>old Roy Jones, even if Kelly loses tonight.

Hehe, yer there's a spot just to the left, knock yourself out mate.

I often just want the best guy to win unless I have significant allegiances to one of those actual fighters in the ring.

I don't, I half respect both fighters for different reasons and whoever wins, deserves it. Meant to be.

The Calzaghe groupies on here will be willing Pavlik to lose because it will put a stop to the momentum for a Slappy v Pavlik fight.

Then Joe can retire without such an immediate question mark over his shoulder, once he has outworked a shot RJJ for a UD.

Don't listen to what they say, this is what they want.
