    On the canvas?

I think that Jones, 39 or not, could give anyone on the planet a run for their money, so it's not going to drop Calzaghe too much in my estimation if he doesn't pull off the win, but the odds are so stacked against Jones....I don't see any realistic way for him to pull it off. I'd love to see it, but wouldn't bet a nickel on it. Of course I'd love to see Calzaghe win, too, and retire undefeated, so either way this plays out, it'll be bittersweet for me, and I honestly can't decide how I'd rather see it play out.

I assume most of the Joe lovas put him as the top SMW so if Joe bites the dust where would that put him down. Top 168 guy falls to 8-10? Also if you do feel he falls drastically doesn't that really back the fact that Joe is not the top SMW of all time. After all one fight doesnt make the fighter, or does it?
OK, nice post. surely you mean top 10 fighter SMW, of all time right? I mean dude, even that's ridiculous, of course he is and most believe legimimately he's the best ever (#1) SMW of all time. So find it odd you'd say top ten.

If Roy gave Joe a beat down, and out classed him boxing wise (highly unlikely but possibly) I'd give Roy full credit, and Joe as he's proved his worth. A loss doesn't alter history. He'd probably be say p4p 6/7 after. It'd be a silly loss as he should clearly beat him.

I think Joe deserves some credit for beating Hopkins. I mean Bernard is a tough match up for anyone. But I think obviously at 43, hes hit that point where he can do ok but can't really win against fighters who are very active. He can still beat counter punchers and methodical fighters like himself...
