Oscar De La Hoya: "Pacquiao Fight Will Be a Battle"

During his trip to Houston, Texas, Oscar De La Hoya was wearing two hats. One hand he was promoting the Juan Diaz-Michael Katsidis showdown, put together by De La Hoya's company, Golden Boy Promotions. On the other hand he was promoting his own showdown, with WBC lightweight champ Manny Pacquiao, scheduled for December 6 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. [details]

It's going to be interesting to see what happens if Oscar nails Pacquiao with that left hook. Considering he's the much smaller man and really just moved up to 135 pounds. Pac is going to have to attack but still not get hit often.

He just said 2 days ago that he could make 144 easy, now he says 147 will be a struggle.

He says the reason he took the fight was because Pacquiao and his trainer, Freddie Roach, challenged him. He forgot about the amount of money involved.

wow that is pathetic im sure he forgot about the money

                  His answers always vary

What a joke - every time he talks itsa different story he is selling to justify this fiasco. Others challenged him and said things more offensive than Roach so he really should leave that excuse at home. And if he truly forgot about the money, ummm , errr, a 60/40 split request should not have held things up the way they did. Its the non-boxing crowd that keeps his appeal so high...I am soooo glad is crumbling.
