According to the Dispatch Online, South African promoter Rodney Berman has secured a 2009 rematch between his fighter Takalane Ndlovu and Fernando Beltran Jr. of Mexico. Last weekend, Beltran won a close split-decision over Ndlovu to capture the IBO featherweight title. Berman felt that his fighter was robbed because the bout took place on American soil. Berman says the rematch will take place on Ndlovu's turf at Emperors Palace in February. [details]

I hope he is getting paid well to go to South Africa. It was a pretty good fight though so i could see why they would want a rematch.Comment

this is utter bull**** beltran jr was the underdog and he won a hard fought match in a neutral venue now he has to go to south africa?
why isnt beltran sr promoting his son, he is doing a great job promoting the chavez brosComment

The promoter of Ndlovu cried robbery in the last fight and to justify Beltran Jr making the trip to South Africa, you have to believe he is going to get paid well.
I don't understand the logic personally, the only way to get your fighter a fair shake is by bringing the fight to a different hemisphere where South Africans rarely lose to non-domestic fighters? Maybe that'll get him the decision but it does little for fairness.
I'm not interested in the rematch, neither seemed to have very much power in their shots and was devoid of any drama really.Comment

Yea they really do not have power but real power in lighter weight fights is kind of rare. To me it was back and forth and it was close up until the end, so it held my interest. If it had open scoring or some **** it would have been weak but not knowing who was going to win made it interesting. The promoter of Ndlovu cried robbery in the last fight and to justify Beltran Jr making the trip to South Africa, you have to believe he is going to get paid well.

As for the rematch I really don't care about it that much, other then it being 2 solid evenly matched dudes, but yea i would not expect Beltran to get a fair shake in South Africa. Not like Beltran is a big star so he could probably use the decent payday, although he may need to get an unlikely knock out to win.Comment

Hmmm, right when I saw this fight signed I thought they should have called this "The Battle of the Molitor Victims".
Neither of these guys are even close to Molitors level, so maybe the winner should get a shot at Lopez or somthing.Comment

I watched this match between Randy Suico and Mzonke Fana. Fana was floored twice and was hanging on for dear life by the later rounds literally and still got the decision. That was an eliminator for shot at Barrera's title. Of course Fana didn't have a chance against Barrera. Guess where that fight was held - SOUTH AFRICA.The promoter of Ndlovu cried robbery in the last fight and to justify Beltran Jr making the trip to South Africa, you have to believe he is going to get paid well.
