Peter Manfredo Jr. - An Appetite for Redemption

by David P. Greisman - Deep down in the pit of his stomach, Peter Manfredo Jr. feels it.

    A feeling of urgency.

It eats away at him, a 27-year-old fighter in a contradictory conundrum. He is in the prime of his career, and yet his time in the sport is contingent on a single outcome – winning, beginning Friday with a bout against fellow super-middleweight Donny McCrary. [details]

He's 27, in all likelihood he's not going to get any better at boxing, and his best just isn't good enough. He should take the money he's earned from boxing/tv/etc and go back to college or something.

He mightbe just good enough to win a belt, but not much more than that.

Poor Manfredo. It took alotta guts for him to go to Wales to fight Joe C. He'll never be more than just a journey man unfortunately.

Why would they leave the division in which they are champs to fight a guy Lacy beat?
