    By Jake Donovan - Team Cuba suffers its first quarterfinals loss after featherweight Idel Torriente dropped a 16-14 heartbreaker to Shahin Imranov of Azerbaijan. They still have four more chances to add to their current total of four guaranteed boxing medals, after bantamweight Yankiel Leon sailed through the semi-finals with a 10-2 win over Worapoj Petchkoom of Thailand.

    Team China also went 1-1 on Monday evening. Yang Li was sent home packing after his 12-3 loss to odds-on featherweight Gold medal favorite Vasyl Lomachenko of Ukraine. Super heavyweight Zhaliel Zhang becomes the second member of the home squad to advance to the medal round, with two knockdowns paving the way for a surprising 12-2 rout of Kazakhstan's Ruslan Myrsatayev .

    David Price is the last remaining Olympian to have won all of his bouts inside the distance. The British super heavyweight scored his second straight stoppage when opponent Jaroslavas Jakšto of Lithuania suffered a leg injury and could no longer continue after the completion of the opening round. Price's Olympic journey thus far has lasted a grand total of four minutes and 31 seconds. [details]
