Joe Calzaghe Is The Best Boxer In The World!

Brush the sand out of your vagina dude. Of course you get some deluded fanboys and Calzaghe has a fair few of them, but no more than Mayweather, Margarito, Pavlik or Klitschko has. No need to get so worked up about it.

First and foremost I'm a Joe Calzaghe fan because he's British. I don't deny it and I see no reason to, just as US boxing fans wouldn't be ashamed to support US boxers. Calzaghe's resume isn't what it maybe should be, but some people are ridiculous in their negative analysis of it. You can make any resume look **** if you try hard enough and have enough of an agenda. Most of the people just hold an irrational hatred and won't/can't listen to any reasoning. They say it their way and that's it, they won't even debate about it, which shows true idiocy. I hope you're not one of them.

Claims about his apparantly poor resume and his slapping punch style are smokescreens for the real reason he inspires hatred with some posters though. It comes down to a few reasons:

1. He isn't American.

2. He hasn't boxed in America much.

3. He is undefeated.

I wouldn't call it xenophobic because it isn't specific to one nation, but I would call it American arrogance. Arrogance that America produces the best boxers and arrogance that it's impossible to prove yourself a World champion if you haven't boxed in America. Harsh truths that many American posters won't/can't accept.

Guess that's why so Many AMERICAN's constantly ***** about how Mayweather sucks and back Cotto and Margarito over him. Or how there are so many Hopkins fans on this site.

he does not have a very good defence at all he was getting hit by Robin Reid smack on the button and Kessler and go take a look at him swinging for the fences against Byron Mitchell if u think he has good technique

out of all the top fighters Joe Calzaghe is one of the worst technically infact if it was not for the fact he has a cast iron chin he would have easily been Koed for my money

Hopkins at the age 43 dropped Calzaghe in the first round, a shocking start to his career in America. He esacpes with a SD AND CALZAGHE HIMSELF says Hopkins was his hardest fight but Calzaghe fans that it wasn’t how can this be??? Calzaghe said out of his own words. That Hopkins was his hardest fight. Kessler is a basic boxer and Mundine gave him a challenege. It’s quite sad to believe what you believe. To become a “great” fighter you must have beat great fighter. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. I wasn't suggesting all Americans are Worldwide xenophobes, I was suggesting the irrational Calzaghe haters were and for a lot of these people, they use smokescreen arguments to justify themselves.

There we go. If you're a World champion then you must be one of the best, if not the best. Therefore, going by your argument, many American boxers should be fighting abroad, "where the best are". Your arrogance in presuming that the best are always in America is exactly my point.

Lewis gets props because he conformed to what American fans expect of foreign boxers, he boxed in America for the majority of his career. He also doesn't leave much open to debate by dominating the entire division.

...and for the record, I don't call Calzaghe great for fighting Roy Jones, quite the contrary. I wanted the Pavlik fight to happen and I think it still will.

see Calzaghe is not ****** he knows how to maximise his Southpaw stance and he understands Boxing because he makes the adjustments himself it is not through his fathers Boxing knowledge IMO it is Calzaghe himself

Joe understood going into the Kessler fight that Kessler comes foward in straight lines in other words he does not cut the ring down when he is attacking he does not step across and attack from an angle etc ,Joe recognised this because i heard him say in an interview Kessler comes foward in straight lines and he was correct but also one of the main reasons Joe was able to adapt in that fight is because it soon became aparent that Kessler goes back in straight lines aswell and when someone retreats in a straight line all u have do is keep throwing and u will hit them

amateur coaches tell their fighters all the time dont go back in a straight line step across to the side otherwise he will keep coming
