According to The Philippine Star, Team Pacquiao will make a demand for a bigger fine on Oscar De La Hoya for any excess weight above the agreed upon limit of 147-pounds. As previously reported, Manny Pacquiao and his team are concerned with De La Hoya's ability to make 147 and refuse to take any chances with De La Hoya coming in overweight on the day of the weigh-in. These two guys should not be fighting I think it is ****** of De la hoya to take this fight and make this fight. it makes dollars but the fight doenst make sense. If De la Hoya wins he gains no legacy if he losses he has some serious questions to be answered.Comment

De la Hoya has a way of making insignificant wins relevant because of his influence over the media.Comment

I read palms and tell fortunes.........cheap.
There have been times on these pages when a decided antagonism has been shown by posters who don't like my letters......... BUT ................unaccustomed as I am to public speaking............ I mean ....unaccustomed as I am to pointing out my own merits, I am happy this time, to remind readers that, just a few days ago, when the news arrived that Manny would ask for $750,000 per lb for over 147, I wrote that this wasn't enough, that it should be double, $1.5 mill or more.
I also said that if I were Oscar, I'd pay it, since it would be a small amount compared to the $60-80 mill or more the fight would generate, and that, for $4.5 mill, he could then come in at 150, which on fight night would generate to 160-165, which would certainly mean a resounding win.
This is almost word-for-word what has been reported today, so I think that Ronnie Nathanielsz had better pack up his leaking ball point pens, and yellow pad scribbling paper to make room for me............Comment

The Phillipine Star report is intimating that, if Manny gets paid his price for each over-the-weight lb, then he will still fight. This of course couldn't be true, and we're still waiting to hear the actual lb.limit beyond which Manny P. will NOT fight. It could be 149-50. If it's any more he'd be crazy.According to The Philippine Star, Team Pacquiao will make a demand for a bigger fine on Oscar De La Hoya for any excess weight above the agreed upon limit of 147-pounds. As previously reported, Manny Pacquiao and his team are concerned with De La Hoya's ability to make 147 and refuse to take any chances with De La Hoya coming in overweight on the day of the weigh-in. All the same, it depends on how greedy Manny gets to be, and how much per lb. they settle at.The higher the money the greedier he'll be. He's already made himself as iconic a figure as is possible to do in the Phillipines, so he could possibly calculate that he might take a career ending beating, but as long as the money makes it worth while, he'd do it......Comment

Pacquiao's Team To Ask For Bigger Fines On Oscar
De La Hoya is not a true champion - first Forbes and now this - this proves nothing - he should fight either Margarito or Williams - he's also a liar - there is no way I'm wasting my time watching this - I hope the revenue rots!Comment
