i'm not asking these guys to get millions. what do i care if they're rich? they're not floyd jr. they won't share their money to their nuthuggers like floyd did but could be nice to see someone who risks getting hurt real bad to at least be able to make a living out fighting. 10 K a piece means ou have to fight 5-6 times just to make an ok living is tough.
Buying out Pride was definitly messy and it seems like they simply paid 70M for their video library.

The Japanese have a great appetite for MMA, but there were a lot of rumours of triad involvement with Pride which led to them losing their TV contract in Japan. Furthermore, drug testing was an afterthought over there. Many fighters had verbal contracts so the UFC couldn't simply transfer fighters from organization to organization easily. Dana said they originally intended to keep Pride alive and just hold supershows yearly, but it could have been his plan all along to gobble up the competition and take their best fighters (for the most part they have).

Still hear stories of undercard fighters having day jobs and having to train MMA, take care of their family, etc. Slowly, but surely guys are being able to make a good living out of fighting. Although some of the smaller organizations are handing out ****** contracts that will eventually lead to their demise in many instances, they have forced the UFC to up the ante in terms of fighter pay. You can make a good living fighting without being in the UFC.
