Malignaggi: "I'll Be Ready For Ricky Hatton By Fall"

IBF junior welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi says he will be physically ready to fight Ricky Hatton in the fall. On Saturday night at the City of Manchester Stadium, Malignaggi won a split-decision over Lovemore Ndou to retain his title. Hatton appeared in the main event and decisioned Juan Lazcano, but took a few lumps during the fight. [details]

It's all just excuses for another poor performance.

Malignaggi is a good opponent for Hatton - definitely beatable, yet a name that looks good on his resume.

Something was wrong with Malignaggi. It was more than his hurt hand. Right from the start his timing seemed off. His reflexes were a bit lax and he didn't show the speed from the first N'dou fight. Yeah, you could argue that it was the hair, and then the hand that bothered him, but I don't know.
N'dou will be 37 in August, yet he was beating Paulie to the punch.
Malignaggi looked bad in his previous fight too. Could the solid beating he took from Cotto be catching up to him in some way?

Paulie should be ashamed of himself after last night! He looked like a comic version of B-Hop comin to the ring, then tried to pull off Shannon Briggs and Lennox Lewis with the hairstyle, but the hair wasn't with that! it had a mind of its own till Buddy cut it off! Hatton should have no problems manhandling this girl!

Someone should post a pic of Malignaggi's hair from the Ndou fight. Damn, I haven't seen it.

Paulie looked bad in more ways than 1 against N'dou, but I think he'll beat Hatton.

how do you think a guy with no power, who does'nt throw one meaningful punch in 12 rounds, who is very easy to hit and who crumbled under the spotlight will beat Hatton?
