lol, "mayweather has not defended it since 2006"

What did Mayweather once say, something like, "I don't need the belts. The belts need Mayweather" lmao

That's embarrassing. I'm taking him off my #1 spot. Pacquiao is the new #1

Since he's the Ring champ he don't need the WBC belt. Not that the Ring belt will mean anything if he ducks the Cotto-Marg winner.

At last some justice to the welterweight and to the champions that DO defend their tittles.

I mean it should come as a big surprise for anyone considering Mayweather hasn't cared about the belts since moving up.

Also of note both guys are advised by the same person Al Haymon so something tells me that Mayweather kept the title until Dre was ready for a shot at it.

It's not Mayweather's fault that the WBC let him hold it that long. After beating Baldomir for it, he went on to fight ODLH and Hatton, which were fights the people wanted a lot. You can't fault him for picking those fights instead of some mandatory.

True, but I'd like to see him fight a mandatory every once in a while and not ALWAYS be about mega fights ($$$).
