During a recent interview with the Las Vegas Review Journal, promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank said that Las Vegas was the best choice to host the anticipated welterweight war between WBA champion Miguel Cotto (32-0, 26KOs) and challenger Antonio Margarito (36-5, 26KOs). I still don't understand the theory that Cotto-Tony on the West Coast will help PPV numbers. Why would location matter? Attendance, I can understand. But where a fight lands has little to no bearing on who orders it.
Of course, Arum has forgotten more than any of us will ever know. But I've yet to make the connection.

I think this fight would have done better in MSG. You know how many PRs would have been there just out of NYC alone? Not to mention, plenty of Mexicans around here also. It's obvious, it's just about the ******** the casinos will gain from having it in Vegas, and hotels. PPV #s wouldn't matter where it's held.
